History
The establishment of our college was decided by the Council of Higher Education Presidency with its letter dated 25.12.1990 and numbered 24464. Our college started education and training on 01.01.1991 with the transfer of Simli Lead Facilities belonging to Etibank General Directorate Keban Mineral Exploration Directorate to Fırat University with a protocol on condition that it would be used for education and training, and with the transfer of the Fisheries Program within Elazığ Vocational School to our college and the admission of students to the Mining and Hydroelectric Power Plants programs in accordance with the decision of Fırat University Senate dated 02.12.1991 and numbered 10- a, b, c.
Our college, which started education with 3 programs in Keban district, has reached 8 departments and 10 programs. After the departments and programs were closed due to the decrease in the number of students, it continues its education with 6 programs under 6 departments in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Our college has a campus area of approximately 103,000 m2, with 11 classrooms, 3 laboratories, 1 hydromechanics laboratory, 1 information technology laboratory, administrative building, dining hall, cafeteria, sports complex, 12 lodgings, 5 plastic, 1 glass and heated greenhouses.
Our Vocational School was established in 1991. It has 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 1 Assistant Professor and 14 Lecturers. The number of students in our Vocational School is approximately 500. We are trying to provide our students with an education that will compete with other universities nationally and internationally by using all the opportunities of modern education. Graduates of our Vocational School are employed as professionals in both the public and private sectors.
