Environmental Technician
Environmental Technician is defined as a person who assists the environmental engineer in protecting the efficiency of natural resources and arranging the environment in a way that is suitable for human health and well-being. There is a perception in our society that environmental technicians carry out works such as environmental regulation and landscaping. However, Environmental Technician carries out works such as the supply and purification of drinking water, purification of wastewater, operation of purification facilities, and measurements related to water/wastewater/air pollution in laboratories. In this sense, increasing industrialization has increased the employment opportunities of Environmental Technicians.
Fields of work and job Opportunities
Our students who graduate from the department have quite a lot of job opportunities. To list these, if they are successful in the Public Personnel Selection Exam (K.P.S.S.) exam, they can work in the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Health and the provincial directorates affiliated to the Ministry, universities, municipalities; in private accredited laboratories that conduct measurements in the fields of wastewater, drinking water, air pollution, noise pollution etc. by being equipped with laboratory knowledge, in companies that prepare and provide consultancy for Environmental Impact assessment report (EIA) reports, in infrastructure project companies by learning programs such as AutoCad, WaterCad, StormCad, SewerCad; in the promotion and marketing departments of companies that sell environmental pollution analysis devices (HPLC, GC-MS, NMR etc.), in the environmental units of every industrial organization that produces waste/wastewater.
