Landscape and Ornamental Plants Breeding Program
General Information About Our Program:
Our program was established in 2013. 30 students are placed in our program. With 3 academic staff within the program, we try to provide our students with an education that will compete with other universities in the national and international arena by using all the opportunities of modern education.
There are 1 (one) glass greenhouse, 5 (five) plastic covered greenhouses and 1 (one) microbiology laboratory that can be used in the detection and diagnosis of ornamental plant diseases that our program students can benefit from.
The education period in the program is 2 years. Our students graduate with 120 ECTS credits at the end of 2 years. The program offers theoretical and practical, compulsory and elective vocational courses.

Landscape and Ornamental Plants Cultivation Technician's Duties
Landscape and Ornamental Plants Technician;
plays an active role in the landscaping, design and implementation of plans as an assistant to the landscape architect. The planting, planting, maintenance, fertilization, pruning and watering of landscape and ornamental plants are among the duties of the landscape and ornamental plants technician.

Our program graduates are employed as professionals in both the public and private sectors.
Working Environment and Conditions
Ornamental plants have a wide working area. The working environment is mostly open areas. They do their work individually or in teams.
Acceptance and Registration Conditions:
Students are accepted to this program according to TYT Results. High school diploma and document showing that they have been placed in the department they preferred in the Higher Education Placement Exam.
Qualification Conditions Rules:
The student must have a 2.00/4.00 GPA, no FF grades and have taken 120 ECTS credits.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs:
Graduates from our associate degree program of Vocational Schools and continue their undergraduate education in Agricultural Engineering (Horticulture or Landscape Architecture), Forestry Engineering and Landscape Architecture according to the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Exams, evaluation and classification are held in accordance with the regulations prepared by the University Senate. There is one midterm and one final exam for each course. The weight of the midterm exam (40%) and the final exam (Final Exam) is calculated as 60% and the course grade cannot be less than 60 according to the 100-point system. The final evaluation is carried out by the academic staff responsible for the course.
All students are required to perform summer practices (internships) as part of their graduation requirements. They must complete at least 30 working days. For the internship evaluation, students must present and present their internships. Internship Evaluation presentations are taken as a course in the fall semester and evaluated by the internship evaluation committee. In addition, the internship evaluation committee evaluates the performance of each student and an average score is calculated for the student.

Graduation Requirements:
In order for a student to graduate, he/she must receive at least (CC) from all courses specified in the program he/she is following and (B) from internships within the legal period specified in article 8 of this regulation. Students with a GPA of 2.00 and above are also considered successful in the courses they have taken (DC) and (DD). GPA is also the graduation grade point average.
