Electrical Energy Generation, Transmission and Distribution Program
About Our Program
Initially established in 1992 under the name "Hydroelectric Power Plants" our program was renamed "Energy
Generation, Transmission and Distribution" in 2010 by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). There are three
academic staff members serving in this program. Our program has a total student capacity of 60, and we strive to
provide education at a level that competes with other universities on both national and international platforms by
utilizing all the opportunities of modern education.
The “Hydromechanics Laboratory” built in 2012 by Halil Erkul, a philanthropist and businessman from
Osmaniye, has a usable area of 450 square meters and is used as an educational building. The Hydromechanics
Laboratory contains two classrooms, faculty offices and various machines and equipment.
Purpose of the Program
The Department of Electric Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution is a 2-year associate degree
program. The department aims to train experienced and knowledgeable energy technicians who will work in
different government institutions and private sector institutions that carry out electricity transmission,
distribution and production.
Program Objectives
To contribute to meeting the need for professional staff by ensuring that graduating students have the knowledge,
skills and equipment to take responsibility in the private sector and public institutions and organizations.
Entry Requirements for Vocational Training
Students are placed in the program according to their scores in the National University Entrance Exam (ÖSYM).
Candidates must take the Student Selection Exam organized by ÖSYM and receive a sufficient score.
Duration and Content of Education
The Electricity Energy Generation, Transmission and Distribution program offers a two-year education
consisting of four semesters at the associate degree level. Our students graduate with 120 ECTS credits at the
end of 2 years. The program includes theoretical and practical, compulsory and elective vocational courses and a
compulsory 30-day internship.
